Day 66 – Lei Aloha

Lei Aloha is a total dive bar located near LAX. I had to drop my friend off at the airport early in the morning and was looking to see what bars were open at 6 AM and here I found one. It’s in a strip mall with just a steel door, no windows, and an uneasy feeling. I left all my valuables in the car and walked in. There were actually several people in there. The reason why there are several people at bars that open at 6 AM is usually for 2 reasons: either they are alcoholics, or they were the night shift, because that would be their happy hour. They have a couple of tv’s on the wall for sports, and in the corner they have an old piece of furniture that held books and VHS tapes. Yes, really, VHS and books. Cheap prices, strong drinks, and checking out a new hole in the wall, it’s a win win.
