Day 228 – Lucky’s

So this place is pretty new. It used to be called a place called Dear John’s which had been around for more than 50 years. I remember going there about a decade ago for dinner with someone who was really drunk and wasn’t a memorable experience. Let me rephrase that, it was, just not in a positive way. It was an old school restaurant/bar that definitely had some character to it. I was planning on going there this year as part of my daily bar goal, but it closed before I had a chance to go. So a new place took over called Lucky’s. They are the same owners of Mom’s Bar and Backstage Bar & Grill. Upon first walking in I see they definitely remodeled the place. Made it more of an open area rather than closed off booths. I was alreayd liking the place. They have happy hour from 4-8 PM but regardless of happy hour, I really enjoyed it. But then I met the bartenders Hannah and Charlie. They were beyond awesome. Most places I go to (not part of the daily challenge) know me and they always take care of you and get you your drink right away. With this place I didn’t know anyone, but they went out of their way to make sure you were happy, made small talk, poured an awesome drink and they made the experience wonderful. I can’t recommend this place enough. I will definitely be back.
