Day 286 – The Wellesbourne

Usually I’m not into fancy type places, and I’ve only been here once before and wasn’t impressed, but once I went during happy hour I liked it a lot more. Maybe because it was happy hour on a Saturday, it was nearly empty. They have so many signature cocktails that it took a while for me to figure out what I wanted. I had this drink called Boulevardier which consisted of Makers Mark, compano antica sweet vermouth and campari. A full-bodied and slightly bitter variation of a negroni. Was pretty good and their glasses are awesome, which is perfect for an old fashioned. Like I said, I was never impressed with the place but then again I came when it was busy. If you are going to check out this place, go during happy hour which is 5-7pm everyday. If it’s any other time I’d avoid it.
