Day 348 – Tumbi

I was actually trying to go to a different bar but it turns out they were having some kind of private event. So I was thinking of what other bars were around where I could drink at that I hadn’t been to already. Then I remembered a couple blocks away there was a new bar/restaurant that opened up, so here I am. This place is an Indian restaurant that also has a small bar. I am not a fan of Indian food so I can’t judge whether it’s good or not. I do see that on Yelp it has 4 out of 5 stars, so I assume it’s pretty good (if you’re into Indian food). So I sat at the bar and saw that they have about 8 beers on tap, several other beers in bottles as well as a decent sized selection of wine. The beers were nice, but then again you’re going to have the same beer anywhere else and chances are will taste exactly the same. What made it nice was the staff. They were friendly, fun to chat with, and was slow, even on a Friday night. Which means it’s easier to get the bartender to make you a drink. Sorry though, it’s not a full bar, beer and wine only. While I did enjoy my time there, and have nothing but good things to say about the place (except for it not being a full bar), but I probably wouldn’t go back only because there are 3 bars/restaurants either right next door or across the street that have a full bar and amazing happy hours. But if you’re into Indian food, then I would say check it out.
